DT Nguyen, chief executive officer, drives Koan’s overall strategy and direction, including development of strategic alliances. A national leader in transformative healthcare information technology, Mr. Nguyen has held successful executive roles in revenue cycle management, pharmacy and medical management, clinical decision support and information exchanges.
Before founding Koan Health, Mr. Nguyen served as president of MedAssets’ revenue cycle management business while it was a Galen Portfolio company. Under his leadership, the business grew and achieved number-one KLAS rankings for multiple market segments. He was the founder of XactiMed, an RCM company acquired by MedAssets in 2007. XactiMed revolutionized the industry by building workflow rules into the integration engine—allowing hospitals and physicians to improve cash flow and reduce AR days. XactiMed technology still serves as the foundation of MedAssets claims applications.
Earlier, Mr. Nguyen held senior executive positions with IPN Network, FoxMeyer Health and U.S. HealthData Interchange. Active in the community, he’s a board member of Tarrant County Hospital District and a former board member of Parker University. Mr. Nguyen is the recipient of an honorary doctor of humanities degree from Parker University in recognition of his dedication, leadership and philanthropy in transforming the healthcare delivery system.
